Elevations Credit Union, a leading Colorado financial institution is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide day to day support to our Chief Counsel. This individual must have prior paralegal or legal assistant work, excellent writing and reading skills and exceptional attention to detail. The applicant must be personable, professional, dependable, and have outstanding organizational skills while performing in a fast-paced environment.
This position will assist the Corporate Risk and Legal team by performing highly varied, complex and confidential tasks to ensure department operations flow smoothly.
Essential Functions include:
-Proactively maintain overview of Chief Counsel’s workload and caseload; anticipate next steps and implement follow-up procedures.
-Create, edit, redline, and/or proofread documents from dictation, handwritten, typed, and/or electronic copy.
-Maintain calendar of meetings. Coordinate attorney/administrative conferences, meetings, and appointments for Chief Counsel. Coordinate travel arrangements as necessary.
-Coordinates logistics of internal and external meetings, including conference reservations, speaking engagements, webinars, material procurement, development and dissemination.
-File paper and electronic documents with appropriate courts and agencies and ensure proper procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
-Performs legal research, which may include retrieval of statutes and regulations.
-Records documents with the various Recorder’s offices.
Required Education and Experience:
-High school diploma required
-4 year college degree, Paralegal Certificate and/or 2 years previous Paralegal experience
-Strong written communication skills.
-Attention to detail with good time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
-Prior experience in financial services, mortgage and/or finance industries preferred
