Business Services Program Director

Responsible for all aspects of the business services program needed for the credit union to meet business plan objectives. Demonstrates expert industry and professional knowledge, hands-on product and service experience, leadership, and intimate knowledge of the credit union’s goals and strategies. Develop, refine and promote business services and products to members and non-members through acquisition, retention and expansion of business services relationships. Responsible for serving existing business members while proactively uncovering and delivering quality solutions to meet the key objectives of business owners.
|Duties:||Essential Functions & Responsibilities:|
•Cultivate business account relationships with new and existing members through external and internal business development activities that achieve credit union goals and business objectives. Includes utilizing all methods needed to secure new business and to meet plan objectives (not limited to; external business development, cold calling, profiling, networking, consulting, telephone sales, and appointment setting.) Build, & monitor commercial loan production and new membership in order to meet credit union objectives. Coordinate efforts to effectively service the existing business accounts & loans in order to retain and grow the business. Proactively uncover and propose sales opportunities in the current portfolio. Effectively communicate key features and benefits or credit union products and services, including demonstration of remote access financial services. Deepen account relationships with new and existing business members to include both personal and business services.
•Coordinate and perform day-to-day business services activities in order to meet business plan objectives. Process all commercial loan requests to submit to underwriting, and upon approval, submit to the Business Loan Committee for approval, conduct document preparation, attending closing of loan. Initiate credit applications; analyze credit reports to accurately identifying financial needs and sales opportunities. Serve as the primary resource to members and staff regarding business services products and requests Including opening and servicing business deposit accounts.
•Oversee and evaluate business services products and procedures and make recommendations for changes as well as new products to manager. Coordinate training and support to insure the credit union staff have comfortable knowledge and sufficient competency in dealing with business products and services. Be a resource to staff and management for questions relating to business accounts and actively resolve problems as they arise. Actively work with business development on collaborative marketing efforts for business services products and services
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Ensures the business lending program is in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, quality control, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
•Prepares reports and performs analysis as needed on the business services program and loan portfolio. Prepare production reports and analysis as necessary for management and BSLC committee. Coordinate agenda and take minutes for the BSLC. Monitor and report progress toward achieving the goals applicable to the business plan. Actively works with third-party vendors and partners to ensure optimal member experience. Participates in preparation and implementation of business services strategies and budget that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget for the credit union.
|Qualifications:||Knowledge and Skills:|
Experience-Two to five years of similar or related experience.
Education-College degree or equivalent in experience and/or classes.
Interpersonal Skills- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills- Job function may necessitate changes in hours or location. Essential functions require travel throughout the Denver metro area to call on prospective business members. Strong communication skills, independent, resourceful and driven. Proven ability and willingness to identify needs and sell appropriate products. Strong presentation and PC skills. Attention to detail, and self discipline to manage daily administrative task accurately and efficiently.
Physical Requirements- Physical/Environmental Characteristics: Ability to see meet the physical requirements to drive. Essential duties are performed in a general office work environment and regularly require sitting and standing at a work station/desk while completing paperwork or using computers, calculators, copiers, fax machines and other business office machines and equipment. Essential duties may also involve: occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, walking, crouching, stooping and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store supplies or various office equipment, as directed. Compliance to security and safety procedures, including use of Personal Protective Equipment, is required.
