Description:Oversee management of the core Symitar system, with responsibility for system operations and maintenance to ensure reliability, integrity, availability, and security. Uphold high ethical standards and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of data accessibility. Monitor production of core system, including job scheduling, verification of results, and quality control. Responsible for Symitar projects and implementation, creation and modification of rep gens, third party SymConnect requirements, and software/systems that need to interface with Symitar. Knowledge of Symitar system processing rules and parameters to ensure accuracy, consistency, and optimal use of the system. Prepare recommendations and updates for the IT Manager.
Duties:1.Provide excellent service to members, internal customers, and vendors.
2.Responsible for all system backups, the IT disaster recovery plan, and technical implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities. Determine business continuity and disaster recovery gaps and appropriate responses.
3.Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and operation of Symitar system hardware and software. Ensure procedures are maintained and current.
4.Monitor status of core business systems supporting credit union operations. Identify and diagnose problems, and coordinate resolution. Define, document, and initiate corrective action. Follow up on problem resolution and report on status.
5.Analyze problem areas identified by users of the Symitar system, and determine appropriate resolution, including validation and authorization of change requests. Convene with person or department requesting change to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
6.Responsible for Symitar projects, software releases, patches, and development of special reports and electronic forms supporting credit union operations.
7.Ensure that users are kept informed of all system updates, and that the IT Steering Committee is informed about new features that may benefit the credit union. Releases are to be fully tested before moving to the live directory. Verify test results and meet implementation schedules.
8.Work with network vendor and act as primary contact, and coordinate with other critical vendors as necessary.
9.Work with vendors and staff who have access to the Symitar system hardware and computer room, master console, and Symop.
10.Create, update, and delete software, users, develop secure user profile templates, and maintain security records for audit purposes. Administrator responsibilities for select third party service application access, such as Internet Banking, Bill Pay, SunCorp, FICS, etc.
11.Maintain physical security systems including staff alarm codes.
12.Respect confidentiality of information handled.
13.Attend required meetings.
14.Be on call outside regularly scheduled hours if deemed necessary.
15.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:1.Bachelor�s degree in Information Technology or related area, or commensurate formal and informal training.
2.3-5 years previous experience in computer operations, programming, and system management with Symitar systems.


�Advanced knowledge of Symitar software and hardware systems, rep gen programming, operating rules, and parameters.
�Strong understanding of the credit union industry and financial delivery systems.
�Knowledgeable in networks, Windows operating systems, active directory, peripheral equipment, Office and other software utilized by the credit union.
�Must be able to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy, and work effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of technical proficiency.
�Must work well in a dynamic and changing environment, and adapt quickly to new conditions and priorities.
�Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to recognize and define problems, research and establish facts, and resolve issues and problems promptly.
�Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks and projects.
�Thorough understanding of all credit union policies and procedures that relate to IT and security. General knowledge of regulatory environment.
�Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
